Still stuck home for most of the month and Hawaii is just starting to open up. Here are my best photos for October.

September wasn't much of a month for taking photos since I was finishing up a book of short stories. But here's the best that I took this month.
I was lucky enough to get a portfolio into the Contemporary Photography in Hawai'i exhibit this year. It's the best photography exhibit in Hawai'i and it's the first time they've offered the option of submitting portfolios instead of just individual photos. I submitted five individual photos and none of them got in, but my portfolio did get in so I was pretty happy. You can see both the individual photos and the portfolios if you follow this link to the Pacific New Media website: https://pnmlab.com/2020/08/31/contemporary-photography-in-hawaii-2020-2/
I'm also including the larger group of photos out of which I chose five to submit to the contest so you can see what didn't get in the exhibit. Oh well, maybe next year! Still stuck at home most of the month. Many of the best August photos were taken at a protest near the Honolulu Hale (City Hall). It was one of the only events that's happened in months and I thought I could get some good photos there. People were gathering to protest another state lock down after the number of COVID-19 cases began to go up dramatically. It ended up being a Trump rally. No, I'm not a Trump supporter, but I took some good photos of those who are.
Unfortunately I was stuck home again for most of the month. Still was able to get out and take a few photos but not many people around. Here are the best shots I made in July.
The strange thing right now is how empty so much of Oahu is. We're used to having about 27,000 visitors a day fly in to Hawaii and now we're only having about 400.
Here are some of the photos I've taken in April, including photos I took in Waikiki which was eerily quiet and dark.
Like many of you, I've been cooped up in my house most of the day, coping as best I can. But as we say here, "If you have to go through a crisis, better to go through it in Hawaii." Here are some of the best photos I've taken in March.
I always have a good time taking photos at the Punahou Carnival. Sometimes it rains during the carnival and turns the whole place into mud, but this time we had perfect weather. I spent two long days at the carnival and below are the better shots I took.
